This abstract describes a project undertaken in Vestfold County in Norway in the period of spring 1999 to spring 2002. The objective of the project was to support the pupils in the lower secondary school with information and experience so that they were able to make rational educational choices. Through the 1990’ies the number of pupils who wanted an academic career increased strongly. Entering a vocational route was not popular and many of the branches in working life ran short of skilled workers. Something had to be done – we did it – and with great success.
